Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, S. Suresh Kumar informed that the 2021-22 academic year will begin from the 15th of July.

Speaking at a press conference in Bengaluru on Wednesday, he said that the 6th, 7th, and 8th standard students will resume their classes in schools from the 22nd of February.

He said that the classes for the students from the 10th standard to the 12th standard were running smoothly. He added that classes were slow-paced in the Bengaluru city region, along with the areas near the Kerala border.

“Today, we had a meeting with health and education department officials and discussed the pros and cons. There is pressure from parents and school board members to resume classes. From 9th-11th standard, classes have been taking place since the 1st of February. However, online classes will continue”, Suresh Kumar informed.
