Mortal remains of COVID infected youth abandoned by family | Muslim youngsters perform funeral rites

Hyderabad: In an incident of interfaith compassion, the funeral rites of a Hindu youth who died of COVID and whose mortal remains were rejected by his family, was performed by two Muslim youngsters at Kadapalli village in Pedda Kodapagal region of Telangana.

As the cemeteries were filling with mortal remains of individuals who died of COVID, the family of a Hindu youth named Mogulia refused to accept his dead body out of fear of being infected, it is learned that during such a time, two Muslim youths came forward forgetting religious, caste differences and performed his funeral rites.


A few days ago, Mogulia had fallen ill and it was later confirmed that he had COVID. He had reportedly been taken to a hospital in Bansuada for further treatment, but due to ineffective treatment, he passed away. Family members were unwilling to bury Mogulia’s body out of fear of contracting the virus. It was during this time that two Muslim youngsters named Shafi and Ali came forward and decided to perform his funeral rites, it is learned.
