One Free Press Coalition: India’s Siddique Kappan among Top 10 Persecuted Journalists Worldwide

New Delhi : The name of the Indian journalist Siddique Kappan has been mentioned in the ‘10 Most Urgent’ list of the One Free Press Coalition, an organization dedicated to fighting injustice against journalists around the world.

Siddique Kappan is on the list mentioning the 10 individuals who have been harassed for telling the truth about media freedom and brutality around the globe, inevitably speaking the truth and standing on behalf of the affected. Among the journalists who have been abused by various countries around the world, the February month’s issue mentions the details surrounding Kerala-based journalist Siddique Kappan’s imprisonment.

Journalist Siddique Kappan has been charged with pre-trial detention without any official charges. Though no indictment has been filed against Indian journalist Siddique Kappan, he has been remanded in custody since the 5th of October. He was arrested by police at Toll Plaza in Uttar Pradesh.
