On Sunday, the Popular Front’s State President Yasir Hassan released the logo for a platform created for prospective blood donors called “Popular Front Blood Donors Forum”, at the organization’s State Office in Bengaluru.

Speaking at the event, he said “Blood donation is said to be a great form of charity. But unfortunately, India is a country that faces the most scarcity of blood in the world. While the country needs about 1.50 crore units of blood, only 1.1 crore units are available. This means there is a shortage of 40 lakh units of blood. In India with a population of 130 percent, it is ironic that 1% of people are unable to donate blood”, he expressed.

“As there is a great requirement for blood in the society, Popular Front has given more importance to blood donation. Since its inception, the organization has made sincere efforts to save people’s lives by donating blood during emergencies, through blood donation camps and voluntary blood donation. Apart from that, we are aiming to set up thousands of units a year under this platform”, Yasir Hasan explained.

“The Blood Donors Forum aims to expand humanitarian service, eliminate scarcity of blood, create awareness and encourage more people to donate blood. The wider public should join hands with this platform to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in the society and save the lives of the people”, Yasir Hassan appealed. The organization’s State Secretary Abdul Majeed, Blood Donors Forum’s State In-charge Abu Sinan were present during the occasion.j
