New Delhi: A Delhi court has granted bail to the Bengaluru-based climate activist, Disha Ravi, who was arrested in connection with editing a ‘Tool Kit’ designed to support farmers’ protest. The bail was granted upon furnishing two sureties valued at 1 lakh rupees each.
Last week, Disha Ravi was arrested by the Delhi Police from her residence in Bengaluru. It was alleged that Disha Ravi, Nikita Jacob, and Shantanu Muluk, together with the Khalistani Organization Poetic Justice Foundation, developed the Tool Kit for the farmers’ agitation in Delhi on January 26.
The Court’s question entailed, “what is the evidence connecting Disha Ravi to the violence of Jan. 26?”
Disha Ravi’s arrest has been a source of both national and international outrage. Among international celebrities who supported the farmer’s struggle is environmentalist Greta Thunberg. Her tweeting the ‘toolkit’ in question resulted in this controversy.
