New Delhi: In the wake of recent lockdowns, as the public is steadily getting used to maintaining their finances, the central government has now hit the masses with a hike in the prices of the LPG cylinder by increasing it by 25 rupees effective from March 1st, 2021.
With the hike in petrol and diesel prices, the LPG cylinder price has also been increased by Rs 25 as of March 1st, Monday. Three days ago, the prices for the cylinder had been raised by Rs. 25, despite which the price has been increased again resulting in an additional burden on the economically affected general public.
The 14.2 Kg weighing Gas Cylinder costs Rs 819 in Delhi, as the new prices have come into effect from March 1st in the nation’s capital.
The price of cooking gas had been raised by Rs 25 last February. Before this, the price has been raised between the 4th and 14th of February. The rates had been increased from Rs 594 to Rs 644 in the December of 2020. Thereafter it was once again raised by Rs 100 making the price of the cooking gas cylinder Rs 694.
The 14.2 kg Cooking Gas which was priced at Rs 694 in January was increased to Rs 719 on the 4th of February this year. In the span of 10 days, the price of the cylinder was raised by Rs 10. Now, the prices have been raised by Rs 25 once again. This increase will further add to the financial burden of the masses.
The price of essential commodities has already doubled since the fuel price hike. Since there are no visible signs of a price rise, the public sector has expressed outrage that daily living has become all the more expensive.
