Mangaluru: The Joint Director of Mangalore Metropolitan Urban Planning Division, Jayaram’s Bejai residence was raided and inspected by ACB officials on Tuesday morning.
Reportedly, Jayaram’s father’s house near Padil in the city and his wife’s residence in Kerala have also been raided.
The raid was conducted in the presence of ACB SP Bopayya, DYSP K.C. Prakash, Inspectors Shyam Sunder, Gururaj, and staff officials.
Before this, a victim had approached the ACB with a complaint against Jayaram for allegedly demanding bribes for work. The ACB officials who were investigating the case reportedly received additional information in this regard, resulting in the raid operations that occurred on Tuesday. Sources revealed that significant records have been seized in the event of the raid.
State-wide raids undertaken in 30 places: Earlier on Tuesday morning, the ACB team carried out an all-out operation in the state and raided 30 locations involving seven officers. Since 6 am, the ACB has carried out raids in Bengaluru, Bellary, Kolar, Dharwad, Dakshina Kannada, Chitradurga, and Kalaburagi.
