Fake Encounter Done Seeking Monetary Reward: A Shocking Report


Srinagar: In a report published by The Hindustan Times, it was revealed that the charge sheet submitted to the courts divulge that the three Kashmiri youths were shot dead in Shopian under the command of an army captain, who was seeking to obtain a monetary reward of 20 lakh rupees. Under the command of Captain Bhupendra Singh, the fake encounter reportedly occurred on Saturday July 18th of 2020.
The deceased young men that includes a minor, were identified as Imtiaz Ahmad (20), Abrar Ahmed (25) and Mahmoud Abrar (16), residents of Rajouri. Captain Bhupendra Singh, natives Tabish Nazir and Bilal Ahmad Lone are the accused in the case. A 1400-paged charge sheet was filed in the Shopian Magistrates’ Court against the accused three.
The deceased victims were taken to the incident site in a pre-prepared vehicle and shot from behind, after being instructed to get out of the vehicle and walk. After the murder, illegally obtained weapons were kept near the bodies. Two pistols, rifles, four empty pistol cartridges and 15 active cartridges were allegedly recovered from them. The accused had destroyed the evidence in order to convince their superiors that the deceased victims had later died in the conflict. There was also fierce protests against the murder of youths in Rajouri.
