Father of Six, Middle-aged Muslim Man Beaten to Death in Rajasthan’s Alwar

Alwar: In a tragic incident that occurred on the night of January-30-31, a 50-year-old Muslim man was violently killed in Rajasthan’s Alwar district.
The victim has been identified as Deen Mohammed, father of six children and a resident of Harsora, Khairthal in the district.
Family members of the deceased are in the dark about the reasons behind the fatal attack on Mohammed. According to the police, Mohammed’s battered body was found in the aftermath of the information they received regarding villagers apprehending someone for cow theft.
Indian Express quoted sub-inspector Satya Narayan of Harsora police station in the Bhiwadi police district, saying “We had received information late last night from villagers that someone had come to steal cows and he has been apprehended. In the morning, villagers told us that a body was found lying inside a hut. Mohammed used to work here and he guarded the fields, warding off wild animals that would damage crops.”
“Family members of Mohammed have lodged an FIR, alleging that he was beaten to death with sticks and other weapons. Four people have been named as accused in the FIR. The post-mortem of the body was done and a team from the forensic science laboratory was also present,” said Narayan.
Rejecting the motive of the cow being behind Mohammed’s killing, Bhiwadi superintendent of police Ram Moorty Joshi said that the main accused in the case had been arrested.

“We are waiting for the post-mortem report. The main accused in the case is Khushiram Dhobi who has been detained along with a few other suspects. Prima facie, the motive behind the murder doesn’t appear to be related to cow,” Joshi said.
A relative of the deceased victim, Nawab Khan said that Mohammed had been living in Harsora for some time. In his statement to Indian Express Nawas Khan said, “Mohammed had gone to the house of one of the accused to put his phone for charging its battery. Within 10 minutes, he was murdered. We don’t know the reason for the murder.”
“The people who have been named as accused by Mohammed’s son Qayum include Sajjan Singh Yadav, Jagdish, Khushiram Dhobi, Rajendra Singh Rajput, and Banarasi Prajapat. Qayum also lived with his father. He has said that at the time of the incident, he heard the cries of his father who was murdered”, Khan revealed.
He also added that reports were indicating that Mohammed could have been locked inside a bathroom.
