Mumbai: The video from a railway station in Mumbai, where railway pointman Mayur Shelke saved the life of a six-year-old boy by putting himself in danger has gone viral on social media sites. Soon after the brave feat, Mayur received a barrage of praise from everywhere and also rendered a grand welcome by the officials. The visuals of this are also becoming viral on social media sites. The Java Company, owned by Anand Mahindra, gifted its classic bike as an award, while the Railway Ministry announced a prize of Rs. 50,000 to the hero.

When a blind woman was walking with her six-year-old son at a train station in Mumbai’s Vangani train station, the little boy had tripped and fallen onto the railway tracks. Meanwhile, the train was seen approaching the station. The visually impaired mother was helplessly floundering, without knowing what to do. In that time, without wasting a moment, Mayur came running from the opposite direction of the train on the tracks and rescued the child, and escaped danger by a hair’s gap. When Mayur Shelke caught hold of the child and climbed onto the platform, there wasn’t that much time left as the train was seen arriving.

This entire episode had been captured on the CCTV camera at the train station. While this emotional scene that played in a matter of 30 seconds has gone viral on social media, everybody has been praising Mayur’s selfless service, time-consciousness, and bravado.
