In the aftermath of Modi’s claim about his involvement in the Bangladesh War of Independence, with the hashtag #LieLikeModi becoming a huge trend on Twitter, he has become the subject of heavy trolling on the social networking site.
During Bangladesh’s 50th Independence Day celebrations, Narendra Modi said, “I fought for the liberation of Bangladesh during the freedom struggle of Bangladesh. The freedom struggle for Bangladesh was a turning point in my life’s journey.”
“I must have been 20 to 22 years old when my colleagues and I did a Satyagraha for the freedom of the people of Bangladesh,” he said.
More than 2 lakh individuals have mocked Modi’s statement on Twitter using the hashtag #LieLikemodi.
