“Union Minister Gadkari has received bribes in India’s Scania bus dealing”: Swedish media report

New Delhi: Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has received a Scania luxury bus for facilitating dealings between bus manufacturer Scania and an Indian company, Swedish media reported. Swedish media reported that the Indian company has links with Nitin Gadkari’s family.

At the end of 2017, Scania’s auditors found evidence that Scania had gifted a specially designed luxury bus to the Indian Transport Minister. Volkswagen, a German automaker owned by Scania, has allegedly gifted the bus to the Indian Minister for deployment in India, a Swedish news channel said.

The bus was reportedly used at the minister’s daughter’s wedding. But Gadkari’s office has claimed that it is ‘Media’s imagination’. The report also mentions that 50 chartered flights were used to deliver guests to the wedding. Volkswagen’s finance company has paid for all of this, the Swedish channel reported.
