The amendment is a ruse to steal rights of compliant minorities | Popular Front Calls upon secular parties to fail amendment in Assembly

The Popular Front of India’s State President, Yasir Hasan said that the Karnataka Societies Amendment Bill, which has been ratified in the Assembly, is an act aimed at stealing the rights of the minority.

“Since the enactment of the law of compliance, under various pretexts, the government has been trying to gain control of minority institutions by appointing an administrator to minority institutions. However, the government is not involved in appointing an administrator to government-created institutions. Whereas cooperatives are non-governmental organizations that do not receive any grants from the government. In this regard, the government’s intervention in the affairs of minority societies through the current amendment is unconstitutional. It is worth scrutinizing that in 1989 the Karnataka High Court had ruled the appointment of an administrator to a minority of bodies as unconstitutional. It is clear, however, that the BJP government has amended the law to make it legal.”

“It is condemnable that the BJP P government, which has an anti-minority stance, is discriminating by continuously slashing minority-related schemes and grants. In the meantime, the frenzy of the ‘CD case’ has reflected the failure of the opposition parties that did not participate in the debate leading to ratifying the amendment without any discussion. Although this has been the subject of debate for many years, the lack of emphasis by the real secular parties reinforces their negligence towards the minority. Despite the dominance of the secular parties, the BJP government has passed the anti-farmer and anti-people anti-cow slaughter bill in the Assembly through the back door. If these parties stumble over this time, they will lose the confidence of the minority community. The opposition must ensure their commitment towards the minority by unitedly failing to comply in this regard”, Yasir Hasan insisted.
